Loro LoLaja Kujjo, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Human Anatomy in the Colleges of Human Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine. He teaches* gross anatomy, neuroanatomy, histology/histopathology and tissue structure. Chronologically, his higher education, academic and employment achievements are as follows:

-       1978 Veterinary Medicine degree; University of Khartoum (Khartoum, Sudan).

-       1978 District Veterinarian, Veterinary Department, Directorate of Animal Resources, Ministry of Agriculture, Juba (Sudan).

-       1978 – 1983 Teaching assistant, Department of Animal Sciences, College of Natural Resources, Juba University (Juba, Sudan).

-       1979 – 1980 Studying at the University of Edinburgh (Britain), Centre for Tropical Veterinary Medicine (Easter Bush, Britain).

-       1981 – 1983 Teaching assistant, Juba University (Juba, Sudan).

-       1983 – 1987 Graduate studies, Department of Animal Sciences, University of Kentucky, Lexington Kentucky (USA).

-       1987 - 1994 Doctoral studies in Reproductive Physiology and Endocrinology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Madison, Wisconsin, USA).

Ph.D dissertation: Bacterial Endotoxin Modulation of Bovine Reproductive Neuroendocrine axes.

-       1995 – Research Associate, Reproductive Program, University of Antioquia, (Medellin, Colombia).

-       1997 – 1999 Post-doctoral Fellowship, Reproductive research, Department of Biology, Northeastern University, Boston, MA, USA.

-       2003-2004 Post-doctoral Fellowship, Reproductive research, Department of OB/GYN, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA.

*In addition to his current teaching activities at Michigan State University, his academic pursuits have included research in metabolic disorders, reproductive pathophysiology, stem cells, embryo development and mortality, reproductive toxicology including radiation induced damage in ovarian tissues.
